Music is so good for kids. Recently I listened to an entire cello recital performed for a retirement home. The kids needed to do their recital anyway, so they came and did it in the retirement center lobby. It gave them a bigger audience. I loved watching the 90 year olds watching the 9 year olds play. Music across the generations.
A close friend recently lost her mother due to Alzheimer’s. For a couple years before she passed, her mom didn’t always recognize her. But she knew and could play every old hymn they used to sing at church. There is something about music that imprints itself so deeply in the brain that even diseases like Alzheimer’s can’t stop it.
Great song @Nancy G. Carver! I think cousin Tim has a lot to be thanked for ... He not only awoke something in you but, in doing so, he also contributed to what you were able to pass down to the next generation. Thanks for sharing a different side of you than I had seen before!
And I'm not sure if Cousin Tim had any idea until yesterday when he read this ; ) We are not an extremely demonstrative family. He probably just thought he was being himself.
Impressive!
