Who Am I and Why Am I Here?
Generation Jones, Thinking About Leaving a Legacy, Exploring What That Means
Who Am I and Why Am I Here?
I represent Generation Jones, that little segment of the population between the Baby Boomers and Gen-X. Many of us are caring for aging parents. We’re generally less frail and more tech-savvy than our older Boomer cohorts, but we’re inching towards retirement and thinking about what we want to leave behind for future generations — at our workplace, for our grandkids, and in our community.
The instructions here at Substack say I should be very specific about how often I will post and what sorts of things I’ll to post about, but I’m going to ignore all of that for now. I’m here specifically because somebody introduced me to a community of Family History Writers who hang out here, and I want to hang out with them.
I’ve been reading Austin Kleon’s “Show Your Work” and decided SubStack would be a great place to implement his suggestions. I write about aspects of what it means to leave a legacy, with a focus on family stories.
Welcome, Nancy, and so glad I found you here!
